Pilot Medical Guardian is an information and record-keeping tool — not medical, legal, or FAA advice. You make every decision about your medical certification yourself, with your AME and the FAA.
By downloading or using Pilot Medical Guardian (the "app"), you agree to these terms. These terms are between you and YellowArc LLC ("I"/"me" in these terms), the company I operate and the provider of Pilot Medical Guardian. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
What this is — and what it isn't
Pilot Medical Guardian is a private, on-device tool that helps you organize your own medical records and read publicly available FAA reference information. It's a record-keeping tool for information you enter yourself, and an information tool that shows you FAA-published material and links you to the FAA's own pages.
It is not medical advice, a medical opinion, or a substitute for an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) or physician; it is not legal advice; and it is not FAA compliance certification. It does not decide, guarantee, or predict whether you are fit to fly, whether you'll be issued a medical certificate, or what you should disclose. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the FAA, Apple, or any medical or aviation authority. Every decision about your medical certification, your disclosures, and your compliance is yours — made with your AME and the FAA.
FAA reference content
The app reproduces or links to reference material from the FAA for your convenience. The FAA's own current, official publications and your AME are the authoritative sources and govern in every case. FAA materials change, and reference content in the app may be incomplete, out of date, or not applicable to your situation — always verify against the current FAA source and your AME before relying on it. When the app links to an FAA page, you are viewing the FAA's own material, which I do not control.
Your responsibilities
You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter, for your medical-certificate application (including MedXPress / FAA Form 8500-8), for your disclosures to the FAA and your AME, and for your compliance with all applicable regulations. The app helps you organize and prepare; it does not complete, submit, or ensure the correctness of any FAA filing, and it does not relieve you of any obligation you have to the FAA.
Your data and privacy
The information you enter is stored on your device and synced only through your own iCloud private database; I operate no server that holds your personal or health data and cannot access it (see my Privacy Policy). You are responsible for access to your own Apple ID / iCloud account and for your own backups. Because your data lives on your device and in your iCloud, losing access to your Apple account — or using "Erase All Data & Start Over" — may permanently delete your records, and I cannot recover them for you.
No warranty
The app and all content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. I do not warrant that the app or any reference content is accurate, current, complete, or error-free, or that the app will be uninterrupted or available.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pilot Medical Guardian and I are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of certification, income, data, or opportunity, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the app or its content. To the fullest extent permitted by law, total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the greater of what you paid for the app in the prior twelve months or US $50. Some places don't allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
License
I grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for your own personal record-keeping. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, redistribute, or use the app or its content to build a competing product, except as the law allows. Your use is also subject to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement; Apple's terms apply to Apple-specific matters.
Subscriptions & refunds
Guardian Pro is an auto-renewing annual subscription sold through the Apple App Store. Your Apple Account is charged at purchase and renews automatically each year unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel anytime in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Apple is the seller of record and handles all payments and refunds — refund requests go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com; YellowArc LLC cannot issue refunds directly. Your records, reminders, and renewal countdown remain free. Prices are shown in the app before purchase and may change for future renewal periods with notice.
Acceptable use
Use the app only for lawful, personal purposes. Don't use it to violate any law or FAA regulation, or to misrepresent information to the FAA.
Changes
I may update the app and these terms. Material changes are shown by an updated effective date; continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
